what is tig welding?
TIG is short for Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding, also known as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). It is an arc welding process that produces the weld with a non-consumable tungsten electrode. This process protects the weld from air-born contaminants.
is my project a Tig welding projecT?
TIG welds are used to weld steel, stainless steel, chromoly, aluminum, nickel alloys, magnesium, copper, brass, bronze, and even gold. TIG is a useful for welding ultra-thin materials such as sheet metal but also great for thick metal welding where a higher quality weld is needed such as pipe welding.

Many people seek TIG welds for its high quality appearance. It is a much slower process than MIG welding but suitable for high quality projects.
quality of tig welding
Most preferred method of welding for aerospace should be enough to stand behind this process but it is also commonly used for nuclear power industries, food and beverage, bike industry and in artwork due to its high performance ability. The slower process results in a much cleaner presentable weld suitable for most metals.
